Fall Conference to Focus on ‘The Future of Education'

  • Big-city school superintendents, board members, and senior administrators will share best practices and reforms to advance urban education when they converge at the Council of the Great City Schools’ 67th Annual Fall Conference, Oct. 25-29, in San Diego, hosted by the San Diego Unified School District.

Under the banner “Sailing into the Future of Urban Education,” these big-city school leaders from around the nation plan to exchange instructional and operational strategies in nearly 80 sessions and over 200 best practice presentations.

They will discuss topics such as social and emotional learning, safety and security issues, addressing unfinished learning, and increasing student achievement.

The urban educators will also hear from three keynote speakers: journalist Jemele Hill, actor/playwright John Leguizamo, and former U.S. Representative Liz Cheney.

And the urban school leader of the year will be announced at the conference’s 34th Annual Green-Garner Award banquet.

The pinnacle event of the five-day conference at the Hilton San Diego Bayfront will be a national town hall meeting, featuring an all-student panel. To register, access the Council’s conference website at: https://cvent.me/24RQvq.  Registration can only be conducted online.
