CGCS-Bernard Harris Scholarship Program
-
Each year, four African-American and Hispanic male and female high school seniors who attend urban public schools are selected to receive $5,000 CGCS-Bernard Harris Math and Science Scholarships. The students are chosen from several hundred applicants in urban school districts across the nation for their academic performance, leadership qualities, and community involvement.
The scholarship program was created in 2010 by former NASA astronaut Dr. Bernard Harris, the first African- American to walk in space, to encourage and assist promising students of color who plan to pursue science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) studies after high school.
In 2025, four $5,000 scholarships for two males and two females each will be awarded to two African American and two Hispanic seniors pursuing studies in STEM-related fields in college next fall.
We are seeking donations for the 2025 CGCS-Bernard Harris Math and Science Scholarship Program.
