The Council currently supports the work of district equity leaders by providing a monthly community of learning that serves to connect our equity leaders with the sharing of best practices, challenges, and solutions – as the work of equity leaders continues to grow and gain importance in urban school districts. The CGCS community consists of over 20 active equity leaders who are interested in developing their skills and knowledge around building equity-centered protocols while arming leaders with tools to address current systemic inequities within their districts. Results from a survey of our equity leaders reveal the varied experiences and backgrounds of urban district equity leaders, yet we find a shared desire to advance equity throughout their districts.
