Guilford County Student Creates His Own Classroom
-
A first-grader at North Carolina’s Guilford County Schools in Greensboro transformed his entire bedroom into a classroom to have a better learning environment during virtual learning.
Colin Leysath, a student at Brightwood Elementary decorated the walls of his bedroom with educational learning posters, puzzles and games to help make the room feel like his classroom from school. “I enjoy learning because there are fun activities to do and it is something you should work on everyday so you can get better,” said Leysath in a story that appeared on local television station WFMY. “That’s why I love school.”
He even has “respect” written on the wall to encourage him and remind him of one of the most important rules of being a student. “Anything he puts his mind to doing, he does it,” said his mother. “I believe Colin doesn’t like to fail, he likes to be successful in everything he does.”
