Council to Hold Legislative/Policy Conference

  • Award-winning journalist Bob Woodward will address urban education leaders at the Council of the Great City Schools’ Annual Legislative/Policy Conference, March 21-24, at the historic Mayflower Hotel in Washington.

    Woodward is an associate editor of The Washington Post, where he has worked since 1971. He received a Pulitzer Prize in 1973 for the coverage of the Watergate scandal with reporter Call Bernstein and in 2003 as the lead reporter for coverage of the 9/11 terrorist attacks. He has authored or co-authored 18 books, and 12 of those books have been #1 national bestsellers.

    The Council conference will focus on topics such as federal education funding for the 2020-2021 school year, the implementation of the Elementary and Secondary Education Act (ESEA) four years since its enactment, Supreme Court updates on the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) program and the 2020 Census.
