In addition to facilities enhancements and COVID mitigation efforts, districts had to dramatically shift the way in which they operated and served students in light of the pandemic. From the very first days of school closures, districts developed and implemented new systems and processes to provide food directly to students and families at distribution sites established across the districts, while navigating the nationwide food supply chain issues.
While students were learning remotely, the district also needed to ensure the students and staff had the learning devices and internet connectivity required to access the online instructional activities.
