• Monique Deleon joined the Council of the Great City Schools as their English Language Learner (ELL)  Specialist in March 2020. In her role, Monique performs a range of duties at the Council in order to provide critical logistical support to various projects pertaining to English Language Learners. Her work to support the Council includes assisting and organizing the annual meeting of ELL program directors, maintaining the catalogue of our ELL professional development videos, as well as data collection and analysis on ELL issues and program implementation. 

    As an ELL herself, she is a Phi Beta Kappa graduate holding a Bachelor of Arts degree from George Mason University in Sociology. During her time as an undergraduate, she was awarded membership to Alpha Kappa Delta, the International Sociology Honor Society. Additionally, she received the 2016 Dean’s Challenge Scholarship for the College of Humanities and Social Sciences.
