Overview
The Council of the Great City Schools has long been a proponent of research-based professional development to provide ongoing learning opportunities that allow teachers and administrators to intentionally reflect on practice to improve overall student achievement. Moving the Common Core State Standards to scale requires a deep understanding of the standards and the instructional changes necessary for implementation. To support these efforts, the Council has convened district-level administrators and content specialists to work directly with the writers of the Common Core in Mathematics and English Language Arts/Literacy to develop resources to move the work forward.
This site includes professional development modules and resources developed from these convenings. In the future, this site will serve as a portal to share materials that have been developed by our member districts.
