Beginning for the 2017-18 school year, Milwaukee Public Schools has launched a new department focused on raising the academic achievement of Black and Latino males.  The Department of Black and Latino Male Achievement will focus on implementing district-wide initiatives to support young men and boys of color and integrate cohesive, and community-based strategies to reframe the narrative around Black and Latino males.
