Political Analyst, Acclaimed Actor, and Radio Host to Address Urban School Leaders at Council Fall Conference
Political analyst Ana Navarro, award-winning actor Giancarlo Esposito, and radio andtelevision host Michael Smerconish will address the Council of the Great City Schools’ 69th Annual Fall Conference, Oct. 22-26 in Philadelphia.
Navarro is a Republican political strategist; political analyst for CNN, CNN en Español and Telemundo; and co-host of ABC’s The View.
She served as the national co-chair of John McCain’s Hispanic Advisory Council in 2008 and has played a role in several federal and state races in Florida. She was born in Nicaragua, and in 1980, as a result of the Sandinista revolution, she and her family immigrated to the United States.
Navarro will give a keynote address at the five-day conference hosted by the School District of Philadelphia under the theme “We Are Public Education, Defining the Future.” The conference will be held at the Philadelphia Marriott Downtown.
Another keynote speaker is Giancarlo Esposito, an actor in film, television, and stage. A strong advocate for the arts and education, Esposito has received numerous accolades, including a Critics' Choice Award and multiple Emmy nominations.
Also addressing the conference is Michael Smerconish, who hosts a daily radio
program on SiriusXM and a weekly show on CNN. He is the author of seven books, including two New York Times’ bestsellers.
