Ricki Price-Baugh
Director of Academic Achievement
Council of the Great City Schools
Dr. Ricki Price-Baugh is the Director of Academic Achievement for the Council of the Great City Schools. She has served on numerous Council of Great City Schools support teams in the area of curriculum and instruction and works with the Council to provide urban school districts with high-leverage research, support, and tools.
She retired as the Assistant Superintendent of Curriculum and Instructional Development for the Houston Independent School District. Her responsibilities included the development and implementation of the Prekindergarten-12 curriculum, professional development of administrators and teachers, and alternative teacher certification. During her tenure, Houston ISD experienced tremendous growth in student achievement and narrowed the achievement gap. She has also worked as an adjunct professor with the University of Houston, teaching curriculum theory and practice for aspiring principals.
Dr. Price-Baugh received her B.A. degree from Tulane University and her M.A. from the University of Maryland. She earned her Doctor of Education in Educational Administration from Baylor University, and holds curriculum auditing certification.
