The Pittsburgh Public School District seeks a Principal of Pittsburgh Science & Technology 6-12.
This position includes the unique opportunity to participate in the development and opening of a new school focused in competitive fields of science and technology. Pittsburgh Science & Technology is a proposed 6-12 program that uses academic concentrations, an alternative grade level structure, and a systems approach to school management to connect all students to the postsecondary opportunity of their choice.
The school is being designed to accept a diverse group of students with varied academic backgrounds and ensure that each of them is able to access and succeed in advanced coursework. Flexible support systems and high expectations for students and staff are essential to achieving these outcomes. At capacity the school will serve up to 550 students in grades six through twelve.
The Principal will work with the Project Manager, project team, and Steering Committee for at least a full academic year prior to the actual opening of the school. They will be directly involved in the shaping and planning of the school structure and curriculum.
